JAC EV unit to build models based on CATL’s skateboard chassis
JAC Yiwei will prioritize the adoption of CATL’s CIIC-S platform for its passenger car program, which involves battery swap-enabled models, BEVs and EREVs.

Honda is exploring cooperation with Huawei in the field of smart driving, and is expected to use the Chinese tech giant’s solution on the Ye brand.
The same model under the Ye brand could be offered in parallel in the future in variants with Honda Sensing 360+ and variants with Huawei’s smart driving solution.

Leapmotor launches new C16 SUV variants with longer range
Leapmotor launched two new BEV variants for the C16 with a starting price of RMB 172,800 ($23,590), 6.8 percent higher than the starting price of the previous BEV variants.
The new variants come with a larger battery pack and the CLTC range has been upgraded from 520 kilometers to 580 kilometers.
Global EV battery market share in Jan-Nov 2024: CATL 36.8%, BYD 17.1%
In January-November 2024, the total global EV battery usage was 785.6 GWh, up 26.4 percent from 621.4 GWh in the same period last year.
CATL’s share in the January-November period was 36.8 percent, unchanged from January-October. BYD was at 17.1 percent, up from 16.8 percent in January-October.
BYD to officially launch Xia MPV on Jan 8
BYD gave the Xia its debut on August 30, saying at the time that the MPV would be priced in the RMB 300,000 ($40,980) class.
The BYD brand currently has no MPV models available in China. Its Denza sub-brand is offering the D9 MPV.
Xpeng, VW to jointly build supercharging network in China in deepened tie-up
