Mercedes recalls 12,308 EVs in China due to battery fire risk
Some vehicles in the recall have fire risk due to battery reliability and control strategy issues in the battery management system software.
Before the formal recall measures are implemented, Mercedes-Benz recommends that users set the charging limit of the vehicles to no more than 80 percent.
BYD brand Yangwang launches electric saloon
BYD has started sales of the Yangwang U7 in China. The 960 kW luxury saloon with four electric motors is available either as a pure BEV or as a PHEV with an additional combustion engine. The energy density of the battery cells used in the solution exceeds 165 Wh/kg, and they can be charged to 100 percent in 20-25 minutes, Hina said.
